Managed web hosting services
Most of our websites and applications are provided as fully managed, supported, hosted services - giving you peace of mind and taking the strain away from your own network. Hosting your system for you enables us to monitor and maintain it to ensure high levels of performance and reliability.
Of course you may host your system in-house if you prefer, in which case we will work with you to establish the application on your own servers. But if you do take up our offer to host this is what you get:
- Web space and bandwidth as required.
- Domain name management.
- POP3 and webmail-based email accounts.
- Comprehensive visitor statistics.
- Managed backup service.
Facilities
Our servers run in a secure data centre in West London which has been engineered with fully redundant connectivity, power and HVAC to avoid any single point of failure, and is staffed 24/7 by highly-trained technical support personnel.
- Bandwidth - the data centre has fully redundant connections to the Internet using a number of different providers. A failure (or even liquidation) of any single provider will not result in any downtime.
- Power - Power is derived from commercial utility underground conduits with a 30-minute battery backup in the event of failure. Additionally, a diesel generator with full-load capability and 18hr fuel supply is on standby to provide long-term power in the event of an emergency.
- HVAC - The data centre is kept at a constant temperature of 21°C (plus or minus 1°C) with humidity at a constant 45-55%. The facility has 200 tonnes of total cooling capacity - more than enough to maintain these temperatures and humidity levels. All our equipment is protected by an Aargonite (the environmentally-friendly alternative to Halon) fire suppression system. It is both safe and non-corrosive to electrical equipment.
