Reply form savings at Moira House
Two-way communication with easily customised online reply forms
Administrators at Moira House have been saving time and money by taking advantage of the web-based reply forms available within the new MoHo Mail* system. The system makes it easy for the school to send a message to a defined group of parents and then download their responses straight into a spreadsheet.
MoHo Mail was successfully launched to parents in September 2009 and has already been used to send a wide variety of correspondence from routine 'whole school' letters to targeted information such as invitations to specific events. The integral 'form designer' makes it easy to create a custom web-based reply form similar to that shown on the right for any specific message. It is quick and easy for parents to complete the forms and the school then receives a structured data file containing all the responses - so need to collate information from a pile of paper reply slips or letters!
The forms have been used for parents' evenings, invitations, parental consent for sports and trips, short surveys and even indication of acceptance of a new policy document. Parents' evening responses were followed up with individual messages 'merged' back to parents confirming their appointment times.
Kevin Ives, IT Manager at Moira House, said "We have found the system very easy to use - in particular the electronic reply slip feature is quick and easy and the response data file works really well, saving administration time."
"MoHo Mail also enables the school to communicate quickly and effectively with international parents, with the email and reply form combination replacing an exchange of information which could previously have taken several days by post."
